BTR Bias Transfer Roll Transfer Rollers are usually rubber rollers which make contact witheither a Xerographic Drum or Transfer Belt this type of roller gets a bias charge which pulls the image either from a drum onto a transfer belt, or onto the paper as the paper passes between this roll and the drum. In machines which have a transfer belt, the first BTR pushes from inside the belt against a drum, see also BTR2 for the 2nd BTR Roller which is found only in machines with a transfer belt.
BTR2 2nd Bias Transfer Roll There is a second BTR (often referred to simply as the Transfer Roller) found in full color machines which use a transfer belt (IBT belt). It pulls the 4 colors all at once from the transfer belt onto the paper as the paper passes between the belt and the rollers surface.
